Our studio is located in the unsurpassed beauty
of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Being surrounded by this
magnificence is always creatively inspiring, but our projects
also take us all over the Western States, across the country,
and around the world.
Jonathan Ramsey, the director and founder of Treeline Film
Company, has always enjoyed his passion for exploring and
connecting with places and people far and near. Creatively
linking stories and meaningful images together is part of
our discriminating visual style. The French have a word for
filmmakers of this predisposition, it's auteur, and it literally
translates to, "author." In many ways, Jonathan
approaches productions in much the same fashion that a writer
might approach a novel: there is always a story to tell, but
also a voice to be found to tell it; characters to whom we
want to connect and places we want to feel, each that require
a clear focus to be carefully revealed.
Below is a series of statements, modeled after an NPR story,
that help draw a picture of our character:
- We believe in pre-production;
in scripts, re-writes, and shot lists.
- We believe in the collaborative process.
- We believe in having fun and joy in our work and
being contagious with it.
- We believe it is important to employ high-quality
media standards that demonstrate value to our clients
and audiences.
- We believe in being an ethical
business; it's all on the table here.
- We believe in practicing our creativity and feeding
it like a living thing.
- We believe we are not perfect.
- We believe in puns and word-plays (yeah, sorry
about that, it's true though).
- We believe in taking breaks and recharging; but
we believe, moreover, in not discharging in the first
place.
- We don't believe we are the
best out there, but we do believe we are professional,
produce very high-quality products, offer excellent value,
and are rewarding partners with whom to work.
- We believe in good beer and,
likewise, in good single malt scotch; and we believe in
sharing it with good friends, many of whom we have yet
to meet.
- We believe that films &
videos are the ideal medium for many messages, but not
all.
- We believe it is good to have
a dog in the office (but not near the hard drives).
- We believe in partnerships
of working with our clients, not for them.
- We believe in what we are--and
while that is always improving, we believe we are already
exceptional and are grateful for it.
